The Finance Department is responsible for managing the administration of the financial affairs of the City. The Administrative responsibility of Finance is to insure that all divisions are meeting their respective functions, assignments, and responsibilities towards maintaining appropriate financial records, collection of taxes, special assessments and other revenues.
FITCH RATINGS AFFIRM BOND RATING
Fitch Ratings has affirmed the "CCC" rating for Pontiac's TIFA bonds and removed the ratings from the Negative Watch.

Ballot Proposal/Headlee Amendment
The Headlee Amendment of 1978 affects the amount municipalities are able to collect for property taxes that provide services to its residents. The City of Pontiac has seen substantial losses in revenue due to these restrictions. The November 8, 2022 ballot includes a proposed 1.0868 millage increase to offset those losses.
