Rape and Sexual Abuse» Directory
Rape, sexual assault, or attempting any of them is a crime. The rapist can be anyone: a neighbor, a friend, a relative, a stranger, or even someone you're barely getting to know. If someone you know forces you to have sex, it is called acquaintance rape. Since it usually occurs in a dating situation, it is also called date rape.

You have the right to say no  to anyone who tries to touch you in any way that makes you uncomfortable. If the person doesn't leave you alone, try to get away as soon as possible.

The rape victim needs immediate medical attention and people to talk to about their feelings, people who will listen to them for as long as it takes. Call the following numbers anytime, day or night. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
In any emergency, call 911. In case of rape or injury, go to a hospital emergency department.
