On September 12, 2023, Oakland County Parks presented its master plan for the Pontiac Oaks County Park.

The new 2021-2025 Master Plan for Pontiac's Parks and Recreation has been adopted and put into action.

There is no shortage of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in Pontiac. In addition to Pontiac's 30 city parks and recreation fields, there are three metroparks and six state parks within a short distance.
